Theological Education in the Anglican Communion (TEAC)

TEAC was set up at the initiative of the Anglican Primates in the belief that all Christian people have both a right and a duty to theological education. It is a commitment by the Anglican Communion to seek to assure the wider availability of appropriate theological education throughout the Communion.

Colleges and Universities of the Anglican Communion (CUAC)

The Colleges and Universities of the Anglican Communion is a world wide association of over 120 institutions of higher education that were founded by and retain ties to a branch of the Anglican Communion. Along with its predecessor, Association of Episcopal Colleges (AEC) that consists mostly of the Episcopal colleges in the United States, CUAC is committed to promoting cross-cultural contacts and educational programs. With institutions on all five continents, CUAC was founded for the exchange of ideas, for the development of programs among member institutions, and for our mutual support that we might better serve our students, our societies, and the world. As a global network of Colleges and Universities, CUAC strives to assist their faculty and students to become better global citizens of our diverse world.

About ecumenical theological education, the EEF web page says:

Theological education, including the training of ministers and priests, is a significant activity in most churches. Through the Ecumenical Theological Education (ETE) network, the team assists churches in bringing new life to this task. We encourage reflection on the nature of ministry (lay, ordained and collective) so that appropriate ways of equipping people for mission and ministry in today's world can be developed.

ETE's work is strongly influenced by the ecumenical movement's re-discovery of the church as the people of God. It asks what lessons may be learned from the basic Christian communities, which are actually living the idea of church as the people of God? In recent years ETE's work has supported innovative programmes in theological education such as original and contextual reflection in curriculum development, the training of theological educators, the development of alternative forms of theological education such as extension education and context relevant and responsive training programmes, intra- and inter-regional exchange of students and faculty. Women in ministry and theology is a continuing area of study.

The Education and Ecumenical Formation programme produces a twice-yearly newsletter, EEF-NET (English and French editions are available on-line), and the twice-yearly journal Ministerial Formation (available in English from the web site).

These and other WCC publications, some of them available on-line, can be found here.
